Crow Lake Outing Report by Brett Erickson (created on )Gallery | Comments
We had a great week at Muskie Bay Resort. The weather was hot, humid, calm and stable--perfect for our after dark plan of attack! Lots of people caught their first, biggest or most fish ever. The fish were tight to structure, so both casting and trolling worked. Big fish for the week was a fat 53"er caught by Richard from Superior, WI. This is the largest fish caught at Muskie Bay so far! We've seen bigger, but Richard got to touch one and not just look at it! Joe Peterson from Trueglide lures and Patrick Finn's father both boated 49-1/2"ers to tie for second place honors for the week. We had a couple of 47"ers in my boat, as did Duff Thury's boat. The fish were active and we were able to boat one to four fish a night--never got skunked!!! The August and September full moon are still coming, so call Muskie Bay and hire Paul or one of his guides to take you out and show you around after dark. Crow is a dangerous lake, so hire a guide until you know the lake intimately!!! On top of that, more people are starting to jump on our program and there are more boats on the water so you need to be aware of other boaters after dark as well. Thanks again to Paul, Chris, Jake and Ashley at Muskie Bay for a great week and thank you to all who attended the Moonlight Muskie Outing.
