The best bonefish leader material (tippet) I have found is Seaguar Grand Max flourocarbon tippet. At Andros for big bones, I use 0X or 01X Grand Max. For other locations, I recommend 1X or 2X tippet. It is incredibly strong and abrasion resistant, and tiny for its break strength. Note: Length is more important than tippet diameter in bonefish leaders...12 feet or more total leader length is more important than how thin your tippet is. With Seaguar Grand Max, you get both skinny and strong. Pay attention to diameter... any bonefish I've encountered don't mind 0X grand Max...that's 16.5 lb.

Be sure to wet your knots well before tightening with flouro.. this is the KEY to making this material work for you.
