Fished out of Fort Myers June 8-11. Tarpon were all over the passes and flats, but we didn't see many hooked on any type of gear. I "busted" a hundred pounder...(That's what I call it when you hook one, but the class tippet breaks before the tarpon jumps with your fly stuck in it's mouth.) Oops. We had another tarpon hooked temporarily on the first cast of the second day, but it didn't stay hooked for long. Tropical Storm Alberto had the skies rumbling, and cut a day off of our trip. Lots of daisy-chaining big tarpon, manatees, bull sharks, snook in the lights, and a fantastic dinner of crab bisque and seared tuna. No tarpon landed, but a great trip anyways... Florida in June is worth the trip.
