After using these rods for bonefish and tarpon, I believe they are the best performing rods yet in salt for both accuracy and distance. The amount of line that can be picked up for a re-cast is incredible, and the great line speed they generate will add length to your cast. I like the 890-4 for wading and normal bonefish, and the 990-4 for those huge Andros, Bahamas bones. The 1290-4 is a great tarpon rod for giant tarpon, and I use the 1190-4 for dorado, jacks, sharks, smaller tarpon, and medium- sized offshore species. They also are awesome muskie, pike, and bass rods back here in Minnesota. We usually have them all in stock at the shop...stop by and test-cast one soon! Scott
I do not own an Xi2 but after casting all the eight and ten weights in the store they are by far the most fun to cast. Pick up more line, Shoot lines, and really smooth and easy. Gonna get one someday.

These sticks rule... Launching quick casts at moving fish is the game...and these rods make it easier. I built a "spare" 9 wt. Xi2 for my last trip, and my fishin' buddy used it all week after blowing up a rod landing a big bonefish at Andros. Cripes!
