Fished 4/15/07...water temps: 40-42 degrees. River is flowing at a nice level, around 160-180 cfs. Clarity was good (1.5 ft.)upstream of FF, fairly cloudy around Hwy. 13. Still some snow in the woods yet to melt in the shady areas.
There were many fishermen around, saw 2 steelhead landed by another guy. Didn't see many steelhead spawning, most of the activity was in deep runs near spawning areas. I landed one steelhead on a yarn fly, one skipjack, and one nice river brown trout. Great to be back on the river.
Note: The convenience store in town is shut down. Looks like some trips to Iron River may become standard for steelheaders for licenses, etc.
