These great new rods have been in the works for a while...TOTALLY NEW fly rods from Cortland and Diamonback. They started from scratch to develop these great-performing, nice-looking, lightweight rods.
The Cortland Brook Series is designed for light-line trout applications. Under $200.00, complete with a case!
The Cortland Big Sky Series is all 9" 4-piece rods, from 4 to 12 weight. Smooth casting, light, and strong. I caught a 65 pound Tarpon on the 11-weight in June, it worked great. I also fished the 6 and 7-weights out west in the fall with streamers. Nice-looking rods, complete with a case, between $200.00 and $250.00. Great rods for anyone...beginner or expert.
Diamondback's new Flawless Series rods are really cool. Light, fast, and a bit stiffer, they develop a ton of line speed. For casters who prefer a faster action, high performance rod. I've fished them for steelhead, redfish, snook, smallies, and big trout. Excellent rods, between $250.00 and $300.00.
In stock now...stop by and check them out!

I was able to test both rods in 9 ft 4-pc 5 weights on trout stream season close on the Rush River, WI. I was very impressed with both rods.

I just fished a week in Montana...Bighorn and Yellowstone Rivers. Conditions were winter-like. I used the Big Sky 5 for dry flies, mostly BWO's, on both rivers, and found it to cast great both short and long. It also worked great for nymph rigs on the Bighorn with little bead-head midges. The Flawless #6 was great for bigger nymph rigs on the Yellowstone, and was really fun to zip big streamers at the bank with. These really are great rods.

Now I've been fishing the DB Flawless 9' 8 wt. for river smallmouth, and what a great rod. Very light in the hand, and a total casting machine. I think I actually heard the rod say to me..."More line, more line!"
