Rabbit strip divers were outproducing foam poppers on Saturday, as fish were nudging the poppers instead of eating them. One big smallie was caught on a lead-eyed leech. The river didn't seem as warm as a few days before, but was even lower than last week. It seemed like being in or near a fair amount of current was critical...deep slow rock spots were not very productive. That 18 1/2"er really tail-walked!

I found similar conditions as well. Fish would rise for poppers/divers but only nudge them or grab the tail. Rabbit strip with lead eyes worked well. It was fun to get the pontoon drift boat out on the river.
