I was in the store late yesterday morning, (1-10)looking at trolling rods for'Eye's. I wanted to see a Loomis trolling rod, as I have all Loomis rods, and was thinking of keeping with Loomis for the troller(s) too. The drawback I have is, they don't have exposed blank reel seats. Now, I understand that they are trolling rods, and most people set them in holders, but I would like the option of being able to "feel" what is going on at the end of the line.

Is swapping handles an option??? I see Loomis does not offer the trollers in blank form. I am new to trolling, as I only trolled for Pike years ago. Is there another Loomis option?? I know I will be pulling cranks like Rapala's, and I will need to learn other trolling rigs too, so I am thinking I will need 2 rods???

Pfluemis,

I apologize that no one in our store has replied...things get a little crazy here this time of year! As far as your trolling rod/handle question goes: Another option you can look at is to contact Lonnie Murphy in our custom rod shop. We carry a large selection of Loomis blanks and the guys back there can build anything. They will be more than happy to discuss different options on handles/reel seats with you. 763-572-3782
