Not really a new idea, just an improvement. Last year I had a lot of short hits. So much so that it motivated me to figure out how to increase my odds. After wiring up a stinger, I landed almost everything that hit. Check your local laws as it may not be legal everywhere (like Whitefish Bay on Lake of the Woods where you can only use single hook baits). The Shur-Set Tube Jig is ideals as it has a VMC Vanadium hook. The hard bends the hook has holds the stinger in place perfectly. The treble is a #4 Gamakatsu and the wire is light (38# to 58#) Mason Singlestrand Wire.

Here it is rigged up on my favorite tube--a Lindy 4" Squid Tube. Make the stinger hook so that it is almost even with the back of the tentacles.

This one definitly has to be done to most of the jigs. Gonna make a huge difference I think.

The lakers at the Outing were not overly aggressive and the stinger hook made a huge difference. The first day I went 0 for 7 without a stinger hook, after putting a stinger on I went 5 for 7.
