Hey guys, I have a 7' MH St. Croix Triumph, a 6'10 H Fig Rig, a 7'6 MH St. Croix Avid, and a 8'6 H Guide Series Pro Tournement Musky. As far as reels go I have 2 6500C3s and 1 7000C3i. I'm divided between getting another C3 for the versatility, a C4 to put on the Fig Rig for jerkbaits, or a 7000C3i to have one on my 7'6 and 8'6. What do you guys think?

Hey tyler, the most versatile reel that you have is that c3 700. These reels will do it all exceptionally well. Big spool + lower gear ratio=lots of power and versatility. I wouldn’t recommend that c4 for really anything. They are great for picking up slack line, but when it comes to fighting big fish....I don’t think they have enough power. Too high a ratio for a small spool. The 6500 c3 will work well for jerkbaits. chris britton
i second the 7000ic3 along with the thought of not getting a c4. the 7000 is faster and more powerful then the c4 and a regular c3 is more then fast enough to catch up to your jerkbaits. my question for ya is when is the last time you were jerkbait fishing and said to yourself "man, i just cant pick up the slack fast enough, there is too much?"
