Which is the preferred method of leader attachment on lures like Reef Hawgs/ Suicks?
1)Directly to the eye on the lure
2)To a split ring(attached to the lure eye)

I am wondering if anyone thinks that split rings impair lure function. Thanks- Bill

As far as suicks....leader with a Stay lock to the eye. You might get a little more movement out of the reef hawg using a split. I like to use delong eels this way....flouro leader with a split attached to the bait...alot more movement.

If I can get away without adding a split ring--I'm going to do it. I hate adding more weak links to a bait and usually it does not enhance the action to a point where you can tell the difference. I can see it enhancing the action even further with something that is highly erratic like an eel though.
