Super newbie to Muskie fishing. Just getting setup. I've been doing lot of reading. Got a list of lures (about 60+) LOL $$$
What do you recommend as a "started" set of 6-10 lures??
Thanks Rick

I would say Get a Lure in each type
Get: 1 Bucktail, 1 Jerk Bait, 1 Spinner Bait, 1 Top Water Prop Bait, 1 Double Bladed Bucktail, 1 Walk the dog bait, 1 Buzz Bait. then get them in a few diffrent colors, that will get you a start at least. others may have diffrent but its a start for you.

make sure all the tools are in your boat before you begin. the most important part of muskie fishing are the tools...the fish matters most. you will need a good pair of long pliers (11inches), hook cutters, hook sharpener, jaw spreader, good net and a "hook out" for dawgs and double #10 bucktails. As far as picking out 6-10 lures...you should give us a call at your best time(763-572-3782) and let us know where you plan to fish most of your time...then we can really steer you in the right direction as far as lures and colors. thanks rick!

ditto on the tools.

steve jonesi did a great job of talking tools and giving real life stories about why preparation is important. more speakers should do that.
